General
How are your bagels so much lower in calories than other brands?
Our bagels are made with a fibrous wheat starch. It has a similar taste profile to regular flour, but is not digested. Same taste, fewer calories!
What are the ingredients / nutrition facts for your bagels?
The nutrition/ingredients for our bagels are now included in the image collections on our product pages.
What is their shelf life? Do they need to be frozen?
Our bagels have a shelf life of 10 days. When frozen, they will last up to 6 months without issue. Many users store them in their freezer until they're ready to eat them.
What are net carbs? How do you calculate them?
There are 2 types of carbohydrates that you consume: digestible, and non-digestible. Fiber is a non-digestible carb, which means your body does not convert it to energy and thus it doesn’t count towards total calories. So, even though the “total” calorie count for our bagels is ~43g carbs, only 8 of them can be converted to energy by your body. The rest just pass through.
Net carbs are calculated by subtracting the non-digestible carbs (fiber) from the total carbs in a product. The calculation for our plain bagels is 43g carbs – 34g fiber and 1g allulose = 8g net carbs.
